We recommend you clean your Kettler furniture at the beginning and end of the season or more regularly if required. Never use abrasive chemicals or cleaning agents. Tree sap and bird droppings should be cleaned off immediately with warm soapy water.
Wood
Remove dust regularly with a clean soft brush and wipe down with a clean damp cloth. Use pads, mats and coasters under plates, glasses cups etc to protect them from scratches, spills, stains and heat damage. Wipe spills immediately to prevent staining. Wood is a natural material which reacts to weather conditions. Depending on weather type, the wood can swell or dry resulting in small cracks. The risk can be minimised by cleaning and/or treating the furniture at regular intervals and keeping it clean and dry with a soft clean cloth. We would advise applying Kettler hardwood shield (available to buy from our website) 2-3 times per year (table tops) and 1-2 times per year for chairs.
RHS wood (Chelsea, Hampton), Fiji, Beach, Cora – We recommend the following cleaning regime using Kettler wood aftercare treatment to keep the furniture maintained and looking its best:
- Kettler Hardwood Cleaner – during the Spring (once a year)
- Kettler Hardwood Colour Protector (smoke white for Cora, Brown for Chelsea, Hampton, Fiji, Beach, Kubu, Bali, Denver) – during the Spring (once a year)
- Kettler Hardwood Shield – Spring and Autumn (2-3 times a year)

Elba wood elements:
- Use our Hardwood cleaner. First moisten the wood with water. Apply the HARDWOOD CLEANER with a soft cloth or sponge. Allow to soak for 3 minutes. Brush the furniture clean with a scrubbing pad in the direction of the grain. Rinse furniture well with water. We recommended that you treat your teak furniture with Hardwood cleaner once a year at the beginning of April.
- Use Instant Grey Protector for Elba. Apply a thin layer of Instant Grey Protector with a soft cloth. Allow to dry for 1 hour and then the wood has turned driftwood-grey. (If you wish to have a more intense grey colour, apply a second thin layer). We recommended that you treat your teak furniture with Instant Grey Protector once a year at the beginning of April.
- Hardwood Shield On grey teak: apply carefully by dabbing (rubbing damages the grey patina). Make sure the Hardwood is 100% dry and free of dust. Apply a thin layer of HARDWOOD SHIELD with a soft cloth. Allow to dry for one hour and then apply a second thin coat of HARDWOOD SHIELD. Let the wood dry for 48 hours before exposure to moisture and rain. We recommended that you treat your teak furniture with HARDWOOD SHIELD twice a year April & October.
Storage: During Winter/wetter months store in a cool, dry and well ventilated location to prevent excessive shrinkage or expansion of the wood.
Moving parts such as locking mechanisms, catches and joints need to be checked/lubricated where necessary.
Cushions
Non-Weatherproof cushions should be removed and stored away somewhere that is dry and has an ambient heat when not in use and must not get wet. They are not suitable for dry clean, not machine washable and are sponge clean only. Kettler sell via the website a cushion/fabric care kit to clean and protect cushions. Cushions for any set come with a 12 month warranty for manufacturing faults only. If white marks appear on the cushions this means that they have been allowed to get wet and this is the FR coating. There is no reversing this process and new cushions will need to be bought by the consumer.
- Failure to comply with the above will void the warranty.
- This product may only be used for its intended purpose for residential premises. Any other uses may affect the warranty.
- All moving parts should be checked regularly and lubricated where necessary.
- Colours may vary slightly.
